Levels & Costs for the 21-22 season
**PLEASE NOTE regarding costs:
There are two fees that are not MEYHA hockey costs, but are part of the process to register to play hockey.
The first cost is USA & MN Hockey.
Since hockey is a sanctioned sport, all players 7 and over, must register. (The USA Hockey fee is waived for age 6 (birth year 2011) and younger.) There is a $46 USA Hockey fee and a $10 MN Hockey fee, for a $56 total. Your player will be given a USA Hockey number. You must have this number prior to registration.
All players must pay a City of Hoyt Lakes rec fee of $50
This helps cover ice time, maintenance items at the arena, such as score board lights, Zamboni upkeep, etc.. really much more than that and too much to list, basically helps keep the lights on.
MEYHA Registration fees are to cover things such as: jersey use, ice time, referees during the year, jamboree/tournament entry fees, etc…
Fundraising
Fundraising items listed do not need to cost you any money, but we ask for a “deposit” to cover hiring personnel to work, should a family not be able to or not want to complete the divvied up responsibilities. Or, in the case of the cash calendars, to cover the money that will be given out for prizes. For more information and to find out how the “deposits” work, please view the registration tab and download the registration paperwork.
MEYHA costs are approximately $30,000 annually.
Termites (Brand new/First year skaters through age 6)
This is Mesabi East’s own program designed for young players who may need time to play on the ice, get used to the equipment, and generally try it out, before committing to the team – there are scheduled practice times, usually shared with the Pops and there are coaches on the ice. Players may or may not be moved to the Pops program as they develop their skills.
